Our story

Microscope Optical Services Ltd started trading in April 2002. Jane came from a microscopy background being Office Manager for their former employer. The company’s prime business was microscope servicing and repairs, but it wasn’t long before our sales division grew after MOS became a Meiji Techno approved dealer. After going from strength to strength over the following 4 years it was time for the company to expand further.

MOS are still expanding its client base. Jane and Leah manage the day to day running of the business, demonstrating a range of microscopes, cameras and accessories, whilst Jane also manages the accounts department.

Since the beginning of 2007, we have employed more engineers across the UK and expanded our range of products. MOS are official dealers for the following manufacturers: Meiji Techno, Microtec, Nikon UK, Olympus and CoolLED.

In 2018 we moved to our new premises based in Offchurch, on a rural farm. Our team is growing, and we are always expanding our product range.

In 2019, we have changed the company name from Mazurek Optical Services Ltd to Microscope Optical Services Ltd – (MOS).

Jane - Microscope Optical Services
Jane Fletcher-Smith
Jane steers the MOS ship. While pioneering new and innovative ways to deliver great service to our customers, she also continues to develop our team of clever, motivated people to produce consistently high results. Oh, and she also makes a mean cuppa.
○ General Manager
Leah Courtenay
Leah keeps everyone in order at MOS HQ, from answering the phone to ensuring everyone gets to where they need to be. Leah is always first to answer the question ‘has anyone seen the….’. At the weekend Leah loves spending time with her family.
○ Project Manager
Ryan Fletcher
Ryan has been with MOS 4 years now, a sharp eye for detail and an obsession with keeping things neat and tidy make Ryan a great Quality Manager in addition to his technician duties – just don’t ever mess up his van. (Or his trainers).
○ Service Technician
Darren Courtenay
Darren joins us from an automotive background, his mechanical expertise has made him an invaluable member of the service team, covering the Midlands and South of England. The trickiest repairs are Darren’s favourite to tackle. Outside of work you’re most likely to find him spending time with his family or tinkering with cars.
○ Service Technician
Jay Nightingale
Jay is our newest recruit, covering the Midlands and the North as a Service Technician. A fastidious approach to his work ensures Jay gets our clients microscopes looking like new. Outside of work you’re most likely to find him down the gym or watching sport!

I was left very impressed with Mazurek. Having experienced with their microscope servicing in previous employment I decided to contact them when working for a new company. Despite my time constraints they were extremely helpful and allowed me to circumnavigate normal working practices and deliver the microscope ‘out of hours’. The morning of the next working day I was informed that all was finished and that the scope could return to its regular duties.

Professional, communicatively prompt, agreeably priced, and willing to go ‘the extra mile’. I will be using them again and highly recommend others do too.
